Member contest deadline is Nov. 5

The dead­line for this year’s Poetry and Flash Fic­tion con­test for mem­bers is this Wed­nes­day, Nov. 5, at the regu­lar meeting.

To review the guidelines:

- No entry fee, but must be a Workshop mem­ber to par­ti­ci­pate.
– Jud­ges and board mem­bers may not enter.
– For­mat: 8.5×11 paper, mar­gins at least 1 inch; dou­ble spa­ced if it’s prose; 12 pt. Times New Roman
– Author’s name not to appear on the entry itself.
– Poems to fit on one or two sheets of paper in the above for­mat.
– Flash fic­tion pie­ces not to exceed 1,000 words.
– All entries will be sub­mit­ted by email as Mic­ro­soft Word docu­ments or RTF files. Email to carolyn­wi­lliam­son (-AT-) charter.net.
– Mic­ro­soft Word’s Word Count fea­ture will be used to verify word limit is met. Title counts as part of word limit. Entries over the word limit will be dis­qua­li­fied.
– Dead­line is mid­night, Nov. 5.
– Pri­zes in each cate­gory (poetry, flash fic­tion) as follows: First place $50, second place $35, third place $20.
